Catch up

Hi everyone

Just a quick end of the week catch up.

Discovered a great website this week that promotes seasonal berries - www.seasonalberries.co.uk - now its great that berries are so healthy, but every now and then its nice to have a treat.  My two favourites from the site are the Baked blueberry cheesecake and the Chocolate and blackberry slice.  Surely with that many berries it can’t be all bad….

Coming up shortly is this year’s foodie festival, which will be in Edinburgh on Friday 13, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 of August in Holyrood Park.  Over 150 seasonal producers are scheduled to attend and its a great day out.  For full details, and to buy your tickets in advance see http://www.foodiesfestival.com/edinburgh/

Calling all teachers - our seasonal calendars are now available for you to use in the classroom via the intranet system Glow.  They are located in the Sustainable Development section  and may be a useful tool as you teach the class about eating local, seasonal and fresh Scottish food.  As ever, if you would like a What’s on your plate? team member to come and speak to your class, please do get in touch.
